The first roadblock might be that as a child you were told that it is impossible to do what you want in life. You might have been raised in an environment that had unrealistic limitations and thus developed layers of prejudice, fear, and guilt. As a result, you do not believe that you are worthy to reach the zenith of your potential and your personal calling becomes deeply buried in your soul and invisible.
A second roadblock may be that you are afraid of abandoning or hurting your family or your “tribe” (Myss Anatomy of the Spirit) in order to pursue your dream. The fear of breaking away from parents, your spouse, your children, and friends as well as your need for approval and love, is so ingrained that it can be a barricade in fulfilling your purpose. If you let the “tribe” control your life, you will follow their path and block yourself from the road that God is inviting you to walk.
The third roadblock is the fear of defeat and ridicule. When you give your whole heart to your vision and journey you feel naked and vulnerable. You must be prepared to have patience in difficult times and to know that the Universe is conspiring in your favor. “Are defeats necessary? Well, necessary or not, they happen. At first because we have no experience, we make many mistakes. The secret of life is to fall 7 times and get up 8 times”. (Chello The Alchemist) You need to stay focused on the goal and you will begin to overcome the defeats and be filled with a greater sense of euphoria and confidence.
The final roadblock may sound contradictory. It is the fear of attaining your purpose. Because you are influenced by old messages and tapes of your unworthiness, you unconsciously believe that you do not deserve to get what you want. Therefore, you may feel guilt when you are within reach of your goal and will often commit stupid mistakes, and sabotage yourself. The antidote to exorcise this belief is to realize that you are worthy and simply view yourself as an instrument of God, merely a good and loyal servant.
I invite you this month to continue to become conscious of the person God is inviting you to become. As you bet glimpses of your dreams, talents and authentic self, be aware of the roadblocks that may be getting in your way.
“It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult”. Seneca
